Mostafa Elshafei joined the firm in 2008, became a partner in 2017 and the Managing Partner of the firm in 2022. He also heads the firm’s procedural practice.

Mostafa specializes in M&A, capital market transactions and the provision of general corporate advice and regularly advises clients on: corporate and commercial matters; establishment of legal vehicles, both offshore and within Egyptian free zones;  and all day-to-day legal operational requirements. In particular, Mostafa represents both domestic and foreign companies on corporate governance issues, listing and delisting, mandatory tender offers, public company reporting obligations, share buybacks, GDR issuance and cancellation and EGX rules and requirements.

Furthermore, Mostafa has extensive experience in dealing at the highest level with different Egyptian governmental authorities including the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and Free Zones Authorities, the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOIEC). His extensive procedural experience on high-level transactions enables him to advise his clients on precautionary measures to ensure achieving a smooth and successful closing.
