Driven by its founder’s early specialization in mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance, and capital markets, since the revitalization plan of the Egyptian stock market by the enactment of the capital market law in 1992, I&P was set up as a boutique firm aiming to provide premium quality service in its chosen specialist areas.
With a blend of the long experience of the old firm and the new vision of its founder, I&P, within less than a year from its incorporation, was recognized among the top firms in Egypt by several international institutions such as Chambers Global, IFLR1000 and Legal500.
In early 2007, I&P was first described by IFLR1000, the Guide to the World’s leading Financial Law Firms, as:
"Formed from a recent de-merger at the offices of Ibrachy & Dermarkar, Ibrachy Law Firm is a lean, four-lawyer team, which punches above its weight in capital markets and major financings. Acting for lenders, underwriters and major borrowers, the team built up an excellent client base of multilateral finance institutions, regional groups and overseas banks prior to the de-merger. Bolstered by extensive experience on derivatives and foreign exchange transactions, the lawyers are often called upon by foreign entities to provide in-depth legal opinions.
Clients praise the “amazingly swift turn-around times” and “good value for money” on offer, while the lawyers are rated as a cut above the average – “they are real lawyers with critical judgment and good analysis."
As a natural result of its growth, in 2012 the Firm was rebranded as I&P and moved to a new location.
